In Loving Memory

My precious David was always the sweetest boy to me. He was teased, bullied and mistreated by everyone due to his developmental difficulties. After two car accidents he needed prescription pain killers. Fentynal patches were prescribed as well as sedatives for sleep. In Florida there is no computer tracking system in use to prevent over-prescribing drugs to individuals. After 12 years, David's pain got the best of him and somehow he overdosed on Fentynal and Valium. The month prior the County Sheriff threatened to arrest me if I did not give David possession of all his prescriptions although his doctor and David had asked me to keep possession of them. The hospital had refused to Marchman Act him on two separate overdose occasions. The County judge denied our petition to Baker Act David. He simply needed the love from others than his mother. See his memorial account by searching Facebook for David V. Lanier Memorial and learn how smart, loving, and exhuberant for life he really was.

We were online friends for years starting around 2000. We fell out of touch and I just learned of his death. I miss you brother, there were times we were both there for each other when we needed it and I'll never forget them. One love. |
