Richard W. Perry Sr.
Founder, President NOPE Task Force
Mr. Perry founded Security Networks in 2000, and served as its President and CEO until the sale of the company in August, 2013. Under Mr. Perry’s leadership, Security Networks became one of the fastest-growing electronic security firms in the U.S. and, in 2012, it was ranked #14 in recurring revenue size nationally by SDM Magazine. With more than 30 years of experience in the electronic security industry, Mr. Perry built Security Networks through a combination of strategic acquisitions coupled with a powerful affiliate model that fueled steady and consistent growth.
Before founding Security Networks, Mr. Perry was a principal at SLP Capital, a leading specialty finance company serving the North American security alarm industry, having completed over $400 million in financings. SLP is a member of the Inc. Magazine Hall of Fame as one of only a handful of companies to make the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing private companies in the United States five times.
In 1991, Mr. Perry founded Digital Detection Systems and formed a strategic alliance with Sears, Roebuck & Co., quickly becoming Sears’ largest and most successful security licensee in the U.S. within their billion dollar home improvement division.
Mr. Perry is a Founding Partner of Harkness Capital Partners LP, a private equity firm focusing on services and niche manufacturing businesses with EBITDA of $5 - $15M. He also serves on the boards of Satelles Corporation and Ackerman Security, and sits on the Editorial Advisory Board of Security Systems News. He is also President of NOPE Task Force, Inc., a non-profit organization.
Mr. Perry holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees, both from Pennsylvania State University.

Karen H. Perry
Founder, Executive Director, Secretary NOPE Task Force
Following the loss of her oldest son Richard, to an accidental drug overdose, Mrs. Perry co-founded NOPE Task Force, Inc. (Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education) a non-profit organization. Mrs. Perry has served in a voluntary capacity as Executive Director since its inception in 2004.
Mrs. Perry’s major initiatives include the co-development and implementation of the NOPE Substance Abuse Prevention Programs and Training Curriculum. Other initiatives created and led by Mrs. Perry include the NOPE Annual National Candle Light Vigil and Support Groups. Additionally, Mrs. Perry has been a leading advocate for numerous legislative initiatives on the State and Federal levels in the area of substance abuse.
Mrs. Perry serves on numerous organizational boards and councils including: The National RX Summit Advisory Board; Member of The Clinton Foundation; Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health- Prescription Drug Misuse, Abuse and Addiction in the United States Initiative; The Ohio State Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Addiction and Recovery Center (HECAOD) Advisory Board; Center for Lawful Access and Abuse Deterrence Annual Policy (CLAAD) Meeting Member; The Palm Beach County Substance Awareness Coalition Board of Directors; The Jupiter Medical Center Lighthouse Detox Center Advisory Board.
Mrs. Perry has been recognized for her achievements in the substance abuse field on both local and national levels including the White house Office of National Drug Control Policy, The Florida Office of Attorney General Pam Bondi, The Former Florida Office of Drug Control, the Palm Beach County Medical Society and Rosemont College. Mrs. Perry has appeared on several local and national news outlets including CBS Sunday Morning and The CBS Early Show.
Mrs. Perry holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rosemont College, and currently resides in Tequesta, Florida with her husband Richard.

Dr. Gary Martin
Founder, Vice President NOPE Task Force
Detective Gary Martin (Reserve) served as a homicide investigator in the Violent Crimes Division of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (Florida) for 20 years. In that capacity, Detective Martin investigated all manner of death. Since 2006, Detective Martin envisioned, designed, implemented and managed the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Overdose Suppression Project. This innovative and comprehensive venture includes components dedicated to overdose research, public awareness and targeted law enforcement. In addition, Dr. Martin currently serves as the Dean of Students at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. In that position, he oversees mental health treatment, substance abuse prevention, threat assessment, Campus Safety, student conduct and health care services for 2500 university students. Dr. Martin holds a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology and is a Florida licensed and nationally certified, Psychotherapist. He has designed and instructed university level courses on Personality Theory, Interpersonal Communications, Peer leadership, Current Perspectives in Substance Abuse, and Introduction to Psychology. He has designed and instructed professional seminars on Investigating Overdose Death and Understanding the Suicidal Mind.
Dr. Martin also serves as Vice President of the Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education Task Force. Gary initiated the NOPE Task Force Support Group, assisted with design and implementation of the NOPE for Parents Program and the NOPE University Presentation.

Maryann Fiorenza-Carey In loving Memory - November 2, 2018
Founder, NOPE Task Force
Maryann Carey moved from a small town in Massachusetts to Pompano Beach, Florida in 1974. She became an active participant in a Pompano Beach Women's club, Bata Sigma Phi Sorority, volunteering to raise funds through various events to help needy families.
Maryann Carey had been a homemaker while raising her four sons. She is currently devoted to loving and supporting her eleven grandchildren and her large extended family.
Her professional experience includes bookkeeping and office administration in the construction industry. She also worked in the management of household affairs for a prominent Palm Beach family.
After the death of her son Steven in 2001, Maryann was called upon to co-found the NOPE Task Force in an effort to prevent further overdose deaths in Palm Beach County.
Maryann held the position of program coordinator for the NOPE Task Force from 2006 thru 2008. Her duties included the scheduling and coordination of the various NOPE programs and events, including School Presentations, Support Group, Training Seminars, Annual Candlelight Vigil, annual fundraising events and legislative efforts.
Maryann Carey currently serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the NOPE Task Force.

Nancy P. Graham
Director, NOPE Task Force
Nancy Perry Graham is the Editor-in-Chief and Executive Producer, Digital Media, for AARP’s Life Reimagined, in Washington, D.C., and the founding editor of Your Life Reimagined magazine. From 2008 to 2013 Graham served as Editor-in-Chief of AARP The Magazine, the world’s largest circulation magazine, taking the magazine to record high levels of readership and audience engagement. Prior to joining AARP as Deputy Editor in 2003, she spent 17 years as a journalist for Time Inc., serving as Los Angeles Bureau Chief for Fortune, senior political editor for Money, and Insider columnist for People. She has appeared frequently on ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN and Fox networks as a news and entertainment talk show guest. Graham has won numerous journalism awards, including an Investigative Reporters and Editors Award in 1997 for editing Money’s investigative report: “Why You May Be Getting The Wrong Medicine.” In 2009 she accepted a National Magazine Award for AARP The Magazine in the category Best Interactive Feature, for “1968: The Year That Rocked Our World.” The magazine was a National Magazine Award finalist in 2011 for “The Alzheimer’s Photography Project: The Me I Used To Be.” Graham is currently a member of the American Society of Magazine Editors; on the board of Narcotic Overdose Prevention and Education (NOPE); a volunteer for Kid Save International; was a featured contributor on the AARP/RLTV documentary and televised town hall with Jane Pauley, Boomers 2.0; and has been a regular television talk show guest. She lives with her family in northern Virginia.
