Family Support
The addiction of one family member affects everyone involved. Whether you have lost a loved one to substance abuse or your loved one is currently addicted, you and the whole family suffer. Not only is the addict consumed by addiction but the family is consumed with getting the addict the care that they need. When the addiction has lead to an unfortunate death, the survivors may also feel and experience the stigma associated with addiction and substance abuse. Too often the consequences of addiction are perceived as deserved and shameful, leaving families and friends to grieve in silence. There are many different support groups that focus solely on helping family members and friends that have been affected by an addict in their lives.
