In Loving Memory

Once upon an amazing and unforgettable time,
It was my 2nd grade yr of elementary school. It was the late 1980's in Seminole County, FL, and the County had decided(for whatever reason), that my childhood neighborhood was to be rezoned to attend a different local elementary school(Just think, at that time most felt discouraged about the direction of the Public Education System.AHH?Maybe next yr?). So, I started this new school during my 3rd grade yr and ironically made all A's(*the one and only time). However, rumors and alleged parental gossip about the 4th grade teacher at this school had involved both negative educational and disaplinary allegations. Therefore, other parents along with my Mother had their children withrawn from the school unless the teacher in question was terminated. Just, to make it more interesting when the Principal tried to fire that "evil 4th grade teacher" he disappeared never to be seen again.(J/K?) So anywho, I was placed into a tiny private Episcopal Academy. After reluctantly being shuffled around once again away from all my neighborhood pals at public school, I quickly experienced all 10 of the characters who were to be my classmates. Right away I was immediately drawn to this long blonde haired, uniform shirt untucked, fused together dennis the menice/bart simpson like kid. Looking back, I could compare the situation to one of those locked-up episodes, where they interview the baby faced wanna be gang bang punk, that just moved into general population from juvy. But deep down he knows that in reality it's either that he has to pick a fight with the top dawg or become that same guys girlfriend if he is to survive at all. Now, that's probably the worst possible metaphoric example to describe being the new kid at school, but you get the picture. Plus, I've never been bullied much as kid. Basically, I figured things would be easier for me becoming buddies with the one kid that already figured out how to get the attention he wants in this "joint." Not only was he "different" than the kids I knew from my hood, but he was definitely a hell of a lot more fun!!! Well, despite all the experience(good and/or bad) throughout my epically 8 yr long journey that was my sheltered little life, once again, I had a tough choice. Actually, I just impulsively wanted to be like that kid. He had what I wanted and I made sure to become his friend. That's how I met one of a very few best friends in my life, Christopher W. Peters!! Since that day, Chris and I started making unforgettable stories. Some I'd like to forget, some I just can't because it's too classic to do so, some I have forgot and love to have brought up again for a belly laugh that could easily lead to wet shorts at times. Although, I miss and think of you daily, that day and that choice has truely made all the difference!!!!!! I love you and can't wait to see your welcoming smile when you see me again, "Brotha" "Peg Leg" "Pegis Legis" "Petey" and "Now,CAHHRRIISSSSSSSS??!!!"
(Chubby Boy and Corky both send their love too)
