In Loving Memory

John Richard Page was my only sibling. He was smart, handsome and funny. He was an unbelievable artist, he could fix any car and he loved camping in the White mountains national Forest. He was a great son, a wonderful brother and a dynamite uncle. He was also a heroin addict. In the past he'd always managed to clean himself up and for a varying period of time he would maintain his sobriety. This last run was different and we all secretly feared the worst. John spent Christmas with his nephews, niece and myself and although he was withdrawing he managed to put on his happy face for the sake of the kids. He ended up staying with us again in mid January for eleven days. He spent a great deal of time playing with his nephews. He went home January 26th, despite us begging him to stay. January 29th I received the call that would change all of our lives forever. John was dead. It is heartbreaking to look at our mom and see her pain. It's unbearable at times. Not a single day goes by that I don't speak about him. He was my baby brother and I miss him.
